5 years = 29 pounds

This time 5 years ago, I was at my lowest weight in my post-high school life. Today I am 5 pounds under my heaviest weight (about 6.5 years ago). The weight crept back up slowly, but surely the first 4 years, but this last year, it has jumped up to my current weight - 179.4... eeek. Typing that number scares me a little. Telling you scares me a little.

But today I started a new food plan. Five small meals a day, 3 liters of water, 20 minutes of exercise and some other miscellaneous things. (I'm following the book "The O.n! Diet") It's a game and my husband and my BFF and her husband are all playing with me. It's the wives versus the husbands. In 8 weeks, we'll see who wins!!!

I hope to lose 10 pounds.

  1. Good luck Ali! Weight gains are always terrifying and I'm right there with ya. 2 years ago when I started TTC I was at my lowest post-marriage weight and wearing a size 4 or 6. This morning, the suit I will wear to work is a size 12 ... petite.
    I'm embarrased too.

  2. If it makes you feel any better, a few months ago, I was heavier than that. I'm stuck at 171. I was also a lot smaller a few years ago. I hope your game goes well and that you win!

  3. A challenge with the guys sounds like a great idea! I hope you kick their butts :)

  4. Good luck! Your story sounds VERY similar to mine except my number is bigger, unfortunately. Thanks for the motivation! You can do it!!

  5. Good luck! I'm also recommitting myself to my weight loss goals. Let's hold each other accountable!

  6. That's so great! I love reading your blog. You're a true inspiration!
