I made it!

1. We made it home from Paris Friday night/Saturday morning. We left May 1 and stayed 4 full days. We saw the Louvre (oh.my.gosh I've now stood only 10 feet away from the Mona Lisa!!!), the Musee D'Orsay, Musee Rodin (the Thinker!!), Sacre Coeur (300 steps the the top, no lift) and of course the Eiffel Tower - we celebrated our third anniversary with dinner at the restaurant on Stage 1 (coolest thing ever!).

More to come and pictures, but I will say that the volcano gave us some problems in that we were delayed initially for over an hour, the 9-hour flight became a 12-hour flight and as we were flying over Indianapolis the pilot comes over the PA:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking, we are going to have to make a semi-emergency landing at Chicago's O'Hare Airport because we are running out of fuel."

We were originally routed through Dallas/Ft Worth. Fortunately, ORD is one of American's hubs and we were able to rebook onto another flight that night home. It was a little wild and crazy at O'Hare since it also happened to 2 other flights so the airport was inundated with 3 full international flights that they had not expected.

2. Mothers' Day! My mom had graciously given me a "pass" about whether or not I attended church this morning. She knew I would come for her, but she knew that it would take a heavy emotional toll. But I sucked it up and put my big girl panties on and went anyway. It was hard, I won't lie. The worst was when they asked all mothers to stand for the children to bring a token gift. I deplored having to stay seated and lost a little of my composure and did cry. But I didn't give in to my "fight or flight" instinct that was telling me to get up and leave. Gratefully, once that was over the sermon wasn't about mothers or mothering.

3. Mothers' Day! Happy Mothers' Day to my mom and to the other new mommies we have out there reading. I had a wonderful "aha!" moment about 6 weeks ago with what I could give my mom. She had looked at a new computer case (one of those tighter neoprene cases that are starting to pop up everywhere), but couldn't find one she liked. I found one in her fave color and had her monogram embroidered in a simple cursive. She loved it! I was thrilled that she liked it and she is so excited to show it off tomorrow at work. I love you, Momma... you are the reason I want to be a mommy!

4. My first shot of Folli.stim. That's right, CD1 came Wednesday - smack dab in the middle of my European vacay. But it didn't slow me down and I was thrilled that it came later than Monday. Especially with what turned out to be our delay, if AF had shown before Tuesday, we would have been benched another month. BUT, AF came wonderfully on Wednesday, I started the 'mid on Friday and today being day 5 meant shot time! I watched my little DVD instructions to refresh my memory of how to assemble the pen and off I went. Made the hubs come stand with me in the kitchen for moral support. I was easy and fast and I have to do it again Tuesday (CD7) and Thursday (CD9) and go in for an u/s on Friday (CD10).
