Cruel & Unusual

I was shopping for Mother's Day cards today at my local gold cr.own store. I found my mom's card then started looking for the mother-in-law cards.

Look where I found them:

Right out loud, but to no one in particular I said, "This is an infertile's nightmare."

  1. I had to buy a birthday card the other day, and walked into a hallmark store. I ended up having to walk past a sea of mothers day gifts they have at the front of the store. Of course that was my CD1...I was almost in tears as I walked out of the mall!

  2. Yep. I agree. I was even uncomfortable buying my mom's card, which thankfully I did before I learned I was going to miscarry.

  3. We can't seem to get away from it so somehow we have to find a way to make it easier on ourselves. But how ?

  4. I think Mother's Day is a big struggle. I obviously want to honor my mom (and MIL), and appreciate all that have done, given, taught, etc. But at the same time I truly thought that by 32 I'd be part of the celebration as a mom, not just a daughter. I don't think either of my moms get that it is a sad day, as my MIL said yesterday "wow, you get to celebrate mother's day 2 weekends in a row! How neat." Yeah. Neat...

  5. I've told my husband that he better not do anything... no cards, no flowers, no nothing... I don't even want to go to chruch next Sunday. Bleh.

  6. Sometimes it just seems as though there is no escaping it. It stinks!

  8. Ugh, I haven't done anything to prepare for Sunday. Haven't bought a card or a gift and have made no plans. Not sure how much longer I can keep pretending like it's not happening....
