Planting Lemons

Saturday, the hubs and I worked further on my flower beds. We decided to level the bed. Previously it followed the slope our yard. By adding another brick/stone under the front layer, we lifted the bed up so that the planting surface is level. Then I planted a few flats. I tried the seed thing last year and while I had some flowers I seem to do better nurturing plants that already have growth.

I got hot while working outside and the only thing I could think was, "Lemonade would taste really good right now." So Sunday I sent the hubs out for lemons and made fresh lemonade. We have this P0wer Juicer. It takes fewer lemons with the juicer, but I still squeezed a 3lb bag (8 small lemons). I then made a simple syrup on the stove and let that cool. I also half a lemon to float in the lemonade. Then combined everything, added water to fill the pitcher and set it in the fridge to chill. The hubs who "doesn't even like lemonade," loved it!

  1. Isn't this a new blog design for you? Love it! Your flowers are so pretty. Also, can I just tell you that my mouth actually watered when I saw the pictures of your lemons and lemonade. I think I'm going to run to Chick-fil-A for lunch and lemonade now! :)

  2. The flowers look beautiful, and the lemonade sounds awesome! I'm also better at taking care of flowers & plants that already have a start.
