Words to Soothe

The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don't make anything happen. Every word I've spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making. John 6:63, The Message

It is the week of my first IUI (6 days at the most) and I subscribe to a Christian blog written by one of my very favorite authors and speakers. She had this verse on there this morning. I teared up immediately.

In this journey, esp with our circumstances, it has been more clear than clear that *I* can not create life. That I am having to totally and completely surrender this process of getting pregnant to God. He is the life giver. He is the Creator of all life on the planet. And if I am to have a child, it will only be because of Him.

  1. I am following your blog after you left a comment on an iVillage post I left, and I really appreciate your perspective! You are a bit further in the process than I (we just found out last month that DH has azoospermia and are now waiting for the genetic test, etc). I have to say that your trust in God and His plan is encouraging. I am struggling to trust that God is with my husband and I right now and that he isn't punishing us (I know, not completely rational!). Did you struggle at first too? If so, any words of encouragement or specific bible verses you found helpful?

  2. Wow...what a poignant scripture for this moment. Powerful! Thanks for sharing it. I needed to hear it, too!
